"My name is Steve Romard and I am a member of Outkast Schutzhund Club in New Hampshire. I have been doing helper work since 1993 when I joined my first schutzhund club. Since then, I have worked 40+ trials including 5 New England Regional Championships, 2 UDC nationals and 1 AWDF championship. I have been fortunate enough to spend time in Germany working with many great trainers over the years, and I would also like to thank the helper committee for this opportunity.

"Hello, my name is Don Yelle. I am a helper at Merrimack Valley Working Dog Club in Hudson, NH. I was introduced to the dogsport by my father in 1990. It was not until 2003 that I began to be serious about the sport. That is when I started to do helper work, with the help of Ken Murphy. I was placed into the National Helper pool in August 2006, by teaching helper Frank Phillips. I have worked 18 trials so far, and always attained a very good or excellent evaluation from the protection judge in my helper book. I have been a helper at the last three Regional Championships for our region. I have also titled 4 dogs in the last 4 years. I was fortunate to take one to the 2005 Nationals. I also showed at the 2006 Sieger Show in the Working class Males and handled a bitch for the Working class female bite work. I am very fortunate to have been pre-selected for this event and I would like to thank the helper committee for this opportunity!

"My name is Charles Ottesen.  I was first introduced to schutzhund when I was 15 years old.  I became serious about the sport in 1994 when I became a member of Greater Houston Schutzhund Club and have been a member now for 15 years.  I continue to train with Greater Houston Schutzhund Club and Austin Schutzhund Club.  I started doing helper work before I ever owned a dog for the sport.  Over the years I have had fun training several of my own dogs and to work many great dogs.  I have been the helper in over forty trials and have done eight Regional events.  I am currently an apprentice teaching helper and I am looking forward to the opportunity to try out for the North American’s this year. My name is Jeff Calder, I’m 40 years old, and I reside in Albany, New York.  I work for the New York State Department of Correctional Services’ Hostage Rescue Unit, and also train dogs in protection for my Department and other law enforcement agencies.  I personally own one male and one female Belgian Malinois, and I train with Interstate Schutzhund Club, where I’ve been the Training Director and top helper for the past five years.  I have done helper work at many club trials, and at one Regional Championship.  I was first taught Schutzhund helper work by Al Weber, and continued with Michael Ellis, who is an amazing trainer and a close personal friend.  I must also mention Frank Philips, who taught me trial helper work and was instrumental in getting me to this level.  I have nothing but respect for all that put on the sleeve.  I feel honored to have been asked to try out for this event.  Schutzhund strong ~~ Jeff Calder
